Otakon 2010

I don't even care that much for anime, but I go to Otakon in Baltimore every year as an excuse to meet up with some people I know. This year, I've finally made a costume - which serves the dual purpose of protecting me from all that free-floating weeaboo filth.

I spent a whole day covering a dollar store sombrero in paper mache! I actually didn't find the perfect fabric for the eyes until Otakon itself. I stopped for a drink from a water cooler in some dirty weeaboo arts & crafts room and they just happened to have the perfect white screen I could still see through.

My claws fell apart by the end of the night (they're really flimsy foam) but I can still make do.

Most of my photos of other people have come out blurry, but it was only Friday. Today is the bigger day for costumes, and I'll try to take some nicer shots. Here's some that came out better:

As usual, most of my pictures aren't even anime related.

You look like a cooler version of Orko from "He-Man." : )

Neat costumes, especially the Chozo. I would feel extremely uncomfortable around many of these female cosplayers though.

I love the Leeloo pic. I think that's the first cosplay of her I've seen and it's spot on.

FUCK! I saw a Parasect a few times, but never thought to ask for a photo. I totally wouldn't have realized it was you! (I was cosplaying Professor Layton, btw).

What goodies did you get from the dealer's room? I was fortunate to snag a Carnivine and a Healer plush myself.
