ILL BLEED (spoiler images)

IllBleed was an absurdly wacky Dreamcast game set in a high-tech horror theme park where visitors can die of pure shock...and is everything really just a prop? You can enjoy a painstakingly thorough but consistently interesting playthrough on Super Great Friend, but here's a few highlights. Be warned, some of these come from the game's hidden "true ending," which is, quite frankly, the best ending to a horror game I've ever seen:

Looks fun, right? I enjoyed watching it all week while getting artwork done. I actually wish there was even more.

Neat stuff! Any combination of a skull-arachnid and skull-cephalopod combo is generally a winner in my book. That Cyclops cake is some great random weirdness, like something I'd expect to see in The Real Ghostbusters. But my favorite has got to be the warty thing with the frog eyes. I'll have to check out that playthrough when I have some spare time, and see these magnificent monsters in context.

Okay, why did you post the naked woman? She's not even a creature.

Why WOULDN'T I post a naked woman? But seriously, it's significant to the wackiness of the "true" ending.

The warty frog-eyed blob incidentally appears for only a couple of seconds, and has the most nonsensical purpose of any creature in the game.

I thoroughly enjoyed supergreatfriend's LP of this game. One thing you can say about Illbleed is that it's original, and even when the mechanics get clunky or downright broken it still manages to be interesting enough to hold one's attention.

There were a few parts I didn't care for, notably the True Ending's rather sexist conclusion as well as the unfortunate set up to a sequel that will probably never happen. Still, the good outweighs the bad, and I'll recommend this game to anyone interested in strange and obscure games.

I finally got around to watching SuperGreatFriend's video. The still pictures really don't do justice to these awesome monsters (especially the squid-brain-skull-bat). But damn is that some disturbing, mind-screwing stuff.

I'm gonna watch some Phineas and Ferb now to counteract IllBleed.

Cool. Imma have to go look these up. That melting one looks like Dr. West's boss form in Splatterhouse, which is AWESOME in my book (and hopefully everyone else's This is BOGLEECH, dammit!)
