31 favorite monsters: Namegon
Before there was Ultraman, there was Ultra Q, essentially Japan's answer to our Outer Limits and Twilight Zone. These giant, crawling slugs appear in only one episode, but remain popular among giant monster fans. Arriving as eggs in a mysterious capsule from mars, the Namegon are able to fire paralyzing eye-beams, but are otherwise harmless and eventually killed by seawater. Apparently, they were sent to us as only a cryptic warning, leaving eerily unanswered questions about their full power.
Namegon is quite possibly one of the first giant slugs ever portrayed in live-action, and its design is flawless. I particularly love the tentacle-lined grimace and the weird, shallow pits instead of pupils.

I will never stop seeing this image and picturing a headless woman with a mouth in her chest, holding up the eyes with her arms :P I think it makes it even better 8D
