Beetlejuice's freaky face

I can't remember where I found this photograph, but it's from a collection of movie props and was apparently built for the scene in Tim Burton's Beetlejuice (one of my favorite films) where the Ghost with the Most turns his back to the camera and freaks out the Maitlands by transforming his face.

All we can see in the film are some thin spider-like legs, definitely not the grotesque, alien appendages seen here. I'm guessing they decided to leave more to our imagination and left this awesome prop unused.

This is an awesome insight into an awesome movie, one I never expected to see. Thanks for posting it! Is there some a "making of" book for the movie?

While some movies are better off leaving things to the imagination, this is something I believe could and should have been put into the movie.
